Falmouth University Graduate - BA (Hons) Interior Design - First Class Degree Awarded
INTERIOR DESIGN AND VISUALISATION
I am a graduate Interior Design student from Falmouth with special interests in commercial design and branding. My degree has enabled me to establish a broad range of design skills including freehand sketching and creating conceptual designs. I am experienced in Adobe creative suite, AutoCAD, Cinema 4D and Google SketchUp.
My critical position as an Interior Architect starts with a respect for the architecture of the exisiting building, the buildings direct topographical and environmental situation and the historical and cultural context of the site. The conversation between old and new is the most important element in any reuse of space - the intial creative response must be born from a consideration of the existing environment and its sense of place, and the final concept must not undermine or overpower what was there before.
I also like to explore the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, and how the user can benefit from green space. I am inspired by designers that can contrast old and new with exciting modern insertions and interventions to existing space and employ eco-friendly techniques to do so.
I draw inspiration from designers that use powerful, colourful graphics and signage and designers that design boldly to create exciting juxtapositons between old and new. I like to design spaces that engage the audience, are visually exciting and that respond to the sense of place.
